Kristen and David met while working together at The Butchart Gardens in the summer of 2004. After a four year long distance relationship they were married in the city where it all began–Victoria, BC.
The wedding and afternoon reception was held at the Villa Marco Polo.
The couple enjoyed a traditional garden style wedding with a contemporary but sophisticated ambience. The venue was stunning on its own accord with Italian architecture and middle eastern accents. The garden needed only a selection of colourful fabrics and artistic floral arrangements to complete the stunning setting. A mix of seated tables, cruisers and large leather ottomans were placed around the tiered garden and italian pond.
The wedding rings were designed with specific intent. Kristen’s ‘Tree of Life’ wedding band is an 18 karat signature Idar design which features a labyrinth of tree branches which represents unity. The branches have a myriad of berries.
David & Kristen had a lot of fun selecting the perfect wines and drinks to accompany the delicious creations served by Feys and Hobbs who catered the afternoon affair. Guests enjoyed being served Kir Royal upon the couple’s announcement as husband and wife along with sangria, iced tea and wine. Various passed tapas included seafood, chinese noodle boxes and exotic cheese trays.

Acoustic guitarist Brad Prevedoros entertained the guests before the couple cut into their three-tiered marzipan cake decorated with fresh herbs to compliment the garden setting. The decadent vanilla sponge cake layered with whipped cream cheese and accented by raspberry sauce and grand marnier.
Mini Forte tea samplings tied together with personalized ribbon (Kristen & David 08.02.08) were sent home with each guest.
