| i carry your heart with me Tara and Mostafa were married on August 16, 2008 in Oakville, Ontario at Tara’s parents’ waterfront estate. The bride wore an Elie Saab gown and one-of-a-kind earrings by Daniel Swarovski. Mostafa wore a linen suit by Hugo Boss. The bridesmaids wore BCBG gowns in varying shades of pink—the same colour that flowed through the rest of the wedding and was affectionately dubbed “Pointe Shoe Pink” after Tara’s love of ballet. The maid of honour wore couture BCBG and all of the bridal party carried bouquets designed by a family friend, Lisa Haan. For a special touch, each bridesmaid wore custom necklaces created by B&L Designs—a jewelry company owned by the bride’s mother and aunt. Event Planner Melissa Haggerty of SpectacularSpectacular produced the wedding and enlisted Lidia Tacconelli of Fiori to assist with the decor and floral for the wedding day. The ceremony took place in a rotunda overlooking Lake Ontario as guests looked on, seated in clear ghost chairs from Contemporary Furniture Rentals. During the ceremony, the E.E. Cummings poem, “I Carry Your Heart With Me” was read aloud and was the most cherished moment of the day for Tara. sunshine and happiness Four separate tents were used throughout the wedding day for guests to enjoy cocktails, dinner and dancing. The reception tent was draped in “pointe shoe pink” fabric by Micki’s. Dozens of sparkling crystal chandeliers from Three Events hung over rows of beautifully decorated tables. Atop each table was a series of high and low floral arrangements in silver urns created by Fiori. An oversized crystal napkin ring punctuated the silver chargers and pink linen. The couple enjoyed dining at a sweetheart table. A four-course meal catered by North 44 was served before guests moved to the next tent for dancing and revelry. come what may The decadent fondant-swag cake was created for the couple by the pastry chef at North 44. Tara and Mostafa danced to “Come What May” from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack before joining their guests in the dance tent for more fun and laughter which carried on late into the evening. “It was a very sentimental and meaningful day because our daughter Hannah was there to share it with us,” says Tara. The family now reside in Oakville.
