WedLuxe Wedding Show: Part 4

Jan 13, 2012  by Angela Desveaux

(Above) The WedLuxe booth holds a special place in my heart (insert obvious reasons here). Aaron (5th Element Events) was the lead designer on the booth. He came up with the trussing concept and the CHANDELIERS (these stunners are a part of his inventory). They are INCREDIBLE. (Picture me doing a happy dance as these went into place). There was serious rigging involved with this booth design and the 5EE team made it happen, seamlessly. Those peonies (placed in mirrored vases) were *extremely* hard to come by at this time of year but Aaron delivered on his promise! The floor was courtesy of Dance Floor Décor. A FABULOUS company who offers all sorts of custom solutions for dance floors (or barfronts, etc). Basically any flat service can be transformed with vinyl. The furniture was all sourced from Contemporary Furniture Rentals Inc.  More pics below. :)

(Above)  All of our guests were given complimentary copies of our newest issue.

(Above) Fuscia Designs created this jaw-dropping masterpiece. Silver, pinks, oh my!

Fairytale, anyone? Frank Rea and his team at Forget Me Not Flowers created a little piece of heaven on the show floor with their jaw-dropping display. It even included a fountain.  These pics were taken before the show got underway but during the show the candles were lit below and they were twinkling... oh so pretty.
The bouquet below, was set on the table.

(Above) Cake Opera Co. never ceases to amaze me with their creativity. It's no wonder Joel Madden and Nicole Richie flew one of this Toronto-based company's confectionary masterpieces all the way from Toronto to Los Angeles for their wedding! This very saucy little piglet has eaten his cake. With rhinestones for eyes and a little party hat, this guy was my favourite addition of whimsy to the show. LOVED IT!

Jackie O created a dramatic display in shades of deep plum and pinks.

(Above) Fabulous Occasions had a beautiful grey and yellow tablescape. So clean and modern. I really loved it!

WedLuxe Wedding Show: Part 3

Jan 13, 2012  by Angela Desveaux

(Above): One of my favourite parts of the show was the Kate Spade-inspired tea lounge we created in the main ballroom. It was called "Love, In Spades." In order to separate our show from other shows, we really wanted key areas to be experiences for our guests, much like you'd find at a wedding reception! Here at WedLuxe, we're smitten kittens with the Kate Spade brand (so much so we have even recently designed our office around the signature black and white stripes)! There's something graphic and whimsical, yet upscale and modern about everything Kate Spade, and we adore it.

So, a tea lounge was created to drop in for a spot of tea (that's PINK tea, if you ordered the Toasty Almond tea on the menu courtesy of our tea room sponsor, Tealish)! Yes, we picked pink tea on purpose! ;)

The entry was created with tall silk black and white draped fabric. Micki's did the draping and Aaron from 5th Element Events sourced the PERFECT drapery to match our sketch! It arrived from NYC with DAYS to spare. I could barely contain my excitement when on the night before the show, the sketch became reality. SO FUN!

Rebekah Cuff, one of our amazing WedLuxe designers created ALL of the signage and design elements for this room including the awesome banners that hung from the entry and the podium.

All of the floral was created by Marta Urbanowitz of 5th Element Events. The furniture was all sourced from Contemporary Furniture Rentals Inc (including the pillows)!

(Above): The stunning gold mesh linen was provided by The Linen Closet. (Who also provided the gold linen upstairs in the Beauty Boutique).

We had custom-designed napkins printed in gold and white. The napkins were sourced locally from Artik.

For each cocktail table, we stuck menus into carnation balls. Gold metallic cardstock framed the top layer of the menu. We used wooden shish-kebab sticks between the layers of paper to place them into the carnations. Simple, yet effective!

I loved the mirrored cocktail tables. They're available in white or black from Contemporary Furniture Rentals Inc.

Rebekah created four giant signs (they were 6.5ft each) that featured adorable little quotes. This one was my fav! :)

As a cute alternative to a chair, we paired these tufted patent ottomans with the white mirrored cocktail tables for a few areas of the lounge.

Some of the menu items provided by The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto catering department for the tea lounge included gold
polka-dotted macarons and gold-dusted pink cake pops.

It was fun to see our guests relax in the lounge with a magazine and a macaron! :)

WedLuxe Wedding Show: Part 2

Jan 13, 2012  by Angela Desveaux

(Above): Tablescape #1 in the foyer was by Creations by Gitta. LOVE LOVE LOVE these colours. Vivid pinks, purples, etc.

(Above): Dizennio Floral created a beautiful pastel tablescape that featured soft pinks, mint, and yellow. Love the mini cake detail on the plates by Fabulous Cakes and Confections.

One Fine Day Event Planning and Design created a soft pink and mirrored tablescape with gorgeous mini cakes by Patricia's Cakes Creations. SO girly and pretty!

I loved the ingenuity (and paper florals) created by the stationery team at Paper and Poste.

Our guests could sample complimentary wine from B & W Wines

The Stemz tablescape (above) was romantic and lush. I love the combination of purples, silver and cream.

How pretty and fresh is this coral tablescape by Underwraps Decor, featuring florals from Fete Boutique and Floral Studio and stationery by So Pretty in Print. I adore tulips (and the colour has a special place in my heart - have you seen our current cover)?!

(Above): Cynthia Martyn of Cynthia Martyn Events is one of the first colleagues I met in the wedding industry. She and I first met about ten years ago when she was looking for a calligrapher to create a logo. (Yes, I can twirl a pen). ;) I am always in awe of her attention to detail. Her styling skills are fabulous. Her booth was created in her signature colour; blush pink. J'adore!

(Above): Patricia's Cake Creations was located at the end of the main foyer
just before the second entrance to the ballroom. Her cakes are grand and girly! So pretty!
