Participation in WedLuxe is by invitation or by review upon request*, subject to space availability. Bi-annually, we conduct an extensive review of the market–determining what businesses are providing exceptional services and creativity for the marketplace. Our review process includes obtaining referrals and references from industry leaders who are directly involved in the creation of luxury weddings in Canada each year.

We also gather research directly from our readers. Our readers assist us to compile the data which enables us to extend invitations to the best businesses in Canada and the USA. Every wedding that is submitted for review is accompanied by a detailed set of forms. Through these forms, we are able to collect data on a wide range of wedding professionals, the services they offer, and assess a rating based on information received from the brides and grooms themselves.

After our research is complete, we extend a limited number of invitations to the most exemplary professionals in the country.

3 | How are wedding stories submitted? Can anyone submit?

We accept and will consider wedding story submissions from any professional wedding photographer in Canada OR the United States. To be considered, your story must feature one or more of the following:

•The Photographer whose work is featured, has a principal place of business, in Canada.
•Bride or Groom whose principal place of residence is Canada.
•The wedding includes the work of a professional, product or service that originated in Canada.

We require:

1. All photographs provided on CD or DVD (or uploaded to our server) in high-resolution digital format (300 dpi minimum when scaled to 9’ x 12’). Low-res proofs or hard copy albums/prints will NOT be accepted or reviewed, or returned to sender. We DO NOT return digital media discs. Please do NOT send us one of a kind files.

2.A completed set of WedLuxe wedding story forms must accompany the entry before we will consider the story. The forms must be filled in by the couple, and a signed waiver / agreement must be submitted from the photographer.
3.The story must not be submitted to, or under review by, any other wedding magazine in Canada or the USA at the time of submission. WedLuxe retains the exclusive rights to publish the story while the images are in our review. The review process takes 6 months. No exceptions.

4 | If you are a wedding planner, decorator or florist and you would like to submit a wedding for consideration, please read:

In instances where you believe YOUR WORK is a stand-out feature of a wedding, (ie. beautiful floral, gorgeous stationery, a couture gown, abundant décor, etc) you encouraged to work with the contracted photographer, and together, along with the bride and groom, submit the wedding for our review.

HELPFUL HINTS:
• Discuss your intentions with the Bride and Groom before the wedding day so that they may too, discuss the idea with the photographer in advance.

•Be prepared to offer the photographer a stipend for shooting extra photographs pertaining to your work. Remember that time and resources are involved for the photographer in order to prepare the submission, and that they may not have the time and resources available, unless they are made aware in advance.

Brides and Grooms are instructed to ask their photographer to submit their wedding for review. We do not accept submissions from the Bride and Groom directly.

5. How do we choose which stories are published?

WedLuxe celebrates the design and style of weddings.

We publish weddings based on the following criteria:

•The wedding is luxurious, extravagant, and produced with top-notch design and décor
•The wedding involves exceptional creativity and personal style (luxe for less can apply, here)
•The wedding involves a celebrity or high-profile personality
•The wedding has some sort of UNIQUE visual or location element. For example, a destination wedding in Thailand with bold tropical flowers, a candlelight reception for ten in a mountainside lodge, or an afternoon garden wedding with beautiful cuisine presented on fine china would be suitable for publishing.
•We are looking for weddings that display a THEME, a UNIQUE idea, or a ONE OF A KIND LOCATION. We want stories rife with abundant DECOR and DETAIL imagery vs. love stories told by candid and photojournalistic images.
